Urbanism > Adamstown District Centre, South Dublin, Ireland

Metropolitan Workshop was selected from an international shortlist to prepare the urban design framework for a 130,000m2 of mixed-use new town centre outside Dublin.

We led the feasibility stage and the planning negotiation for what was Ireland’s largest planning application.

The settlement will provide new town centre amenities for a growing community of residents and a new station for the existing rail link.

Amenities will include new– community, medical, sport and leisure facilities, shopping, workplaces, crèche, and 900 dwellings.

The centre will have a distinctive identity, developed in collaboration with six leading Irish architectural practices, helping to establish Adamstown as anattractive new place that will endure and evolve.
