Heidi joined Metropolitan Workshop from Hawkins\Brown where she was a long-standing Partner, bringing with her a broad range of experience from over 20 years working across a wide range of sectors and scales of project.
Heidi’s experience includes residential, mixed-use, transport as well as expanding her education experience gained initially from working at Architecture PLB. Heidi has worked on both secondary and higher education projects ranging from developing briefs to the design and completion of university teaching, learning and social facilities.
Heidi has a particular interest in working on complex projects often with multiple stakeholders to produce thoughtful, contextual responses to a client brief, including working in sensitive/historic contexts.
Heidi has experience of working with larger multidisciplinary teams having led the architectural team for the delivery of the new Liverpool Street Crossrail station with Arup/ Laing O’Rourke working collaboratively within very tight constraints and constant design challenges.
Heidi has been a member of the Higher Education Design Quality Forum since 2006, championing the impact of good design within the sector, becoming a Trustee in 2017. Heidi contributed to the RIBA publication ‘Future Campus.’ which sought to provide best design practice to support Universities and design teams to meet the ever-changing needs of the University Estate.
