Since joining Metropolitan Workshop in 2023, Louise has worked on several housing projects, including the detailed design of St. Teresa’s Gardens for the Land Development Agency and the design development of School School for Dublin City Council. Most recently, she has been working with Kildare County Council on the detailed design of the County Library in Newbridge.
Louise graduated from University College Dublin with a Master’s degree and completed her Professional Diploma at TU Dublin. Before joining Metropolitan Workshop, she worked at AOF Architects in Dublin and Mole Architects in Cambridge, managing housing projects including an infill housing scheme for Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council and a Passive House-accredited almshouse scheme in Cambridge, which won a RIBA East Award.
Louise has guest-critically reviewed at the University of Cambridge and has also been a guest lecturer for the Architecture School’s Part II Professional Practice module. She is an award officer for the Architectural Association of Ireland, co-running the annual awards which provide a forum for the critique of contemporary Irish architecture.
She has a particular interest in sustainability, exploring how to create buildings that are low in embodied carbon, promote wellbeing, and are a joy to use.
