Part 1 Architectural Assistant

London Joined in 2018 BArch, University of Westminster

Matt has a keen interest in urban design and the public realm and is currently working on the Oakfield masterplan project for Nationwide, which aims to deliver 240 homes and support the ongoing residential expansion of Swindon.

Matt’s final year project was a proposed pleasure pier to accompany the regeneration plans of Ebsfleet in Kent  and a dance auditorium that borrowed elements from theme-park rides and neon signage. His project had strong links to theories inspired by Scott Brown and Venturi’s Learning from Las Vegas, and linked nearby communities to a new housing plan.

In between studies Matt worked in the urban design team at Transport for London where he was involved in the Oxford Street pedestrianisation project. His work included the first masterplan drawing envisioning the transition of Oxford Street West from a congested thoroughfare to a new pedestrian artery.
