In 2017, Regmar Investments commissioned Metropolitan Workshop to design a discreet collection of family homes for a backland site in Alperton, Brent. The site is currently used as a car park for a private ambulance service, and sits between two terraces of interwar Edwardian housing.
The scheme comprises of a short terrace of seven 3 and 4-bed homes, plus a pair of 2-bed bungalows, carefully sited and oriented to avoid overlooking of neighbours.
The three storey terrace includes generous south-facing roof terraces to meet the amenity space target and orientation. The scheme was approved in April 2018.
"The saw-toothed roof pitches, first floor terraces and varied brickwork treatments create a distinctive and intimate character for this enclave of generous family homes. "
Inspired by the local context, the distinctive roof forms are set back to provide south facing amenity spaces.
