Chipping Barnet Church Gardens

Opening up and restructuring the churchyard at St John the Baptist Church was an opportunity for improving the appearance and amenity of the public realm in Chipping Barnet town centre.

We were engaged in October 2011 after Barnet’s successful Outer London Fund application. Our scheme increases connectivity along Church Passage, improves visibility into the churchyard, opens up views to the war memorial and the church, improves the approach to the church and war memorial and provides a green space in the heart of the town centre. Consecrated ground and tree roots underfoot prompted a no-dig construction solution.
