Sharon Chatterton is a Senior Associate at Metropolitan Workshop with extensive experience in residential, masterplanning, educational, and mixed-use projects in Ireland and the UK. She holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Dundee and a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Studies from the University of Westminster.
Earlier in her career, she worked for Nicholas Hare Architects in London and was one of the Project Architects for the award-winning Project One Campus, a private secondary school in Warwick. She also worked on a wide-range range of educational and residential projects across London and southern England.
Since relocating to Ireland in 2017, Sharon has led projects at Metropolitan Workshop across all stages of design and construction. She was Project Architect for Annesley Gardens, a Dublin housing scheme that transformed a backland site into a new street of 20 homes. Recognised for its sensitive integration of contemporary architecture within a conservation area, it was shortlisted for the EU Mies Award in 2024.
Sharon’s design approach is grounded in creating spaces that are both contextually responsive and human in scale, striving to create places that feel authentic and enduring. She combines strategic thinking with a collaborative, detail-oriented process, placing strong emphasis on material quality and craftsmanship while championing sustainable design.
Sharon is currently leading a 250-home landscape-led scheme in West Dublin and overseeing construction of two large-scale residential projects for the Land Development Agency and South Dublin Council respectively.
